Senior Web Designer

We are seeking a talented web designer who excels in a dynamic, fast-paced setting and has experience working with diverse clients and teams. The ideal candidate should be focused on creating user-centered designs and driven to take their work to new heights. They should also possess a strong curiosity for the latest trends and best practices in UX/UI design.

About You...

About You…

Your approach to design is user-centric at its core, and you thrive in a multi-client, multi-disciplinary environment. You have high standards, but you play well with others, because you’re a problem-solver at heart. You can work either independently or collaboratively, modeling excellence while providing professional and creative structure—but you’re at your best working alongside a team of content creators, designers, strategists, and analysts. You’re a talented communicator, whether taking the lead in a client meeting or leading an internal critique, and you are hungry to grow beyond this job description. This role reports to the Marketing Strategy Director/Strategy Department, with the potential to eventually oversee the Creative Department.

Primary Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will break down into five general categories:

  • Generate high-quality creative deliverables. As a senior member of our design team, you will be ultimately responsible for conceptualizing, strategizing, and delivering creative assets for internal and external projects. These will include website sitemaps, wireframes, and prototypes, as well as email campaigns, banner ads, and social media assets. Additionally, you will be overseeing on-demand web maintenance, content management, and web technical support.
  • Create user-centric digital experiences. You will lead the charge on design initiatives end-to-end, spearheading research, solution-finding, and high-fidelity design, as well as preparing files for development handoff.
  • Organize and allocate resources for the creative team. In an effort to support a growing design team, you will ensure the efficiency of internal workflows, allocate design resources effectively, and promote clear design guidelines, standards, and best practices.
  • Attract and develop top creative talent. You will manage, develop, mentor, and support creative staff, inspiring others with talent, technique, and commitment to excellence. Additionally you will oversee the hiring and employee development for the design team, ensuring that employees and contractors are meeting and exceeding expectations.
  • Grow the business. You’ll use your talents, insights, and leadership to explore new ideas and approaches that will help us evolve and improve as we continue to scale.

Required Skills & Experience

You’re a great fit for this job if:

  • You’re a great designer. You are a master in typography, iconography, color, pattern, and form. You have in-depth knowledge of technical web maintenance. Preferably, you have solid client-side coding skills and experience (HTML/CSS/JavaScript/JQuery), advanced experience with search engine functions and optimization, and experience with web page versioning and Content Management System.
  • You’re well-versed in the best industry tools & platforms. You have demonstrated expertise with design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC, InVision) as well as common website platforms (Shopify, Webflow, WordPress). Headless CMS platforms and app design, and basic development skills are a plus!
  • You have 4-6 years of agency or similar experience. Whether at an agency or elsewhere, you have done this kind of work before and you love it.
  • You love building user-centric experiences. You have a passion for designing intuitive and thoughtful digital experiences and backing up decisions with data.
  • You get things done. You don’t ask, you just do. You can run with an assignment with minimal direction, and you’re comfortable making something out of nothing.
  • You’re pretty awesome. Really and truly—you’re a great person and you’re fun to be around. Hard work doesn’t scare you. You understand that we’re all in this together, and that although some days will be harder than others, we’re building something special.
